November...

This picture doesn't show just how big this pile of leaves was. If you look really close you can see Carter's 2 little feet poking out at the bottom!:)

Me in the pile...Carter took this...pretty good huh?

Fall is the best time to visit the zoo. The weather was perfect. The animals were active and there were hardly any people there! It was such a fun afternoon. I love this picture because I didn't even realize until I uploaded it that they're holding hands! So precious.

In the ground hog tunnel with Daddy. I especially like Carter's pose in the picture. He's hilarious.

Riding the tiger.

We went to the zoo because a few days before Mike went to take Carter to the zoo, but he fell asleep on the way there so Mike let him sleep in the car and then woke him up at 4:45 to go in. Only the zoo closes at 5 and last admission is 4:30. So, Carter was a little disappointed, but they went and fed some geese that were right in the park and he liked that. The zoo is right in the middle of a park in downtown Boise, so this time we brought bread and planned to feed the geese after the zoo.

The geese are not afraid of people...I kept thinking..."have I learned nothing from the countless Funniest Home Videos of people getting attacked by geese?" Apparently not.

This picture perfectly grasps Emory's walk. She is a true "toddler". It also explains why she always has at least one bruise on her face at all times.

Cheesin' with her cute new hat on!

Happy Halloween!

So, for Halloween this year Emory was a Kangaroo (I got this costume at Babies'R'Us the Monday before Halloween on sale for $7.50!) and Carter was "Idaho's Chief Meteorologist, Rick Lantz. Carter loves weather and especially tornadoes as you've heard from past posts. He LOVES to watch "Storm Chasers"! Mike and I have really gotten into the show too. So, I thought, Carter kind of looks like Rick Lantz, let's do that. So, we borrowed a little suit from Gregg & Kami and made a little "microphone" out of a broken ear bud, there wasn't a pocket on the suit for a handkerchief which Rick always has so I just pinned one to the suit and we printed off the 7-day forecast!
Cannon, my nephew, kind of looks like Larry Gebert, another meteorologist from the same news station as Rick Lantz, so we thought it would be funny for them to both dress up as those guys and take their pictures and send it in to the news. Well, we did and on Saturday night they were the closing story for the 10 o'clock news and then they did another story on the Monday morning news where they showed the pictures and showed the video of Carter! I'll try to get a copy of the stories posted on here or a link to them or something. Pretty crazy and hilarious! They're famous. Everyone thought they were so funny at the ward Trunk-or-Treat too.

Idaho's Chief Meteorologist Rick Lantz.

Meteorologist Larry Gebert (We also since learned he's affectionately known as Boise's Ron Burgundy.)

Little Rick Lantz

Little Larry and Rick.

We think this picture looks like they're "on location" getting ready to shoot next to the news van!

Our cute little kangaroo! She wouldn't carry her pumpkin until after a few people put candy in it and then she was totally down!

Diggin' through the goods.

I told you she loves sweets...look at the smile!

More Fall Fun...

Another one of my favorite fall activities is raking leaves! I LOVE it. We have a huge maple tree in my front yard and I have always loved raking the leaves and playing in the piles. I love the smell of the leaves and the sound of walking on crunchy leaves. Carter and I have had fun raking and playing in the leaves. We've also been enjoying the nice weather and going to the park. The other day it was windy and Carter asked if we had kites because it was "perfect" for flying kites. So, we went to the park and flew our kite. It was so fun. Mike even joined us for a little bit too. Emory and Carter love going to the park. I love having such a great park right up the street!

Last Monday we had Ben and Nikki and Cannon over for dinner, FHE and carving pumpkins. I sadly didn't think to take pictures when we were carving pumpkins though?! So, I don't have a picture of Ben's pumpkin. On Thursday we made Halloween sugar cookies, ghosts, pumpkins, moons and skeletons! Carter of course loved the skeletons. We took plates to a few neighbors...and ate way too many myself! We've also been enjoying rooting for the Texas Rangers in the Playoffs and World Series. Sadly that came to an end tonight...and not a good end. :( As miserable as it is that Michael hasn't found a job yet, we've been making the most of this time we have to spend together as a family because I'm sure once he finds a job we won't see him near as much. Also just so you don't think he's just hanging out around the house all day...he does spend most days from around 9-5 looking for a job....sadly there's just not a lot out there. Most law jobs posted require 3+ years experience right now. Lame...how do you get that first job to get that experience?!

Emory fell asleep on Daddy watching the baseball game. So cute!

Carter and the pumpkin he and Michael did.

I'm pretty proud of my haunted house pumpkin!

Playing in the leaves.

Don't mind the dinosaurs on Emory's hat! She doesn't have a hat of her own yet so she's been wearing Carter's.

Perfect day at the park.

Usborne Books are perfect for rainy days! :) Nice plug eh?! They really are though!

I love this picture. I found them in the hall like this!

Our Halloween cookies!

"Spider"
Another fun day at the park!

This is one of our favorite things Emory does...she "peeks" around things like the all the time. A lot of time there's not really anything to peek around but she still bends over and looks like this.
