Since we've been spending a lot of time indoors lately I've been trying to come up with fun things to do for Carter, but I'm not always successful. We made Halloween cookies one day, we've played PlayDough, gotten a few new toys, he rides his tricycle around the house, and had a few "popcorn parties"; which is the fun way to say we've watched movies! Like I said, I'm not always successful. The other day while I was feeding Emory, Carter was playing in his room and I realized he was being too quiet. I went in to find that he had climbed up on the changing table and had just about an entire tube of diaper cream in his hair! That is not easy stuff to get out since it is made to keep moisture away. After about 10 washes it came out. I was worried I was going to have to shave his hair now that he finally has some! This was also the day before we were getting family pictures done...needless to say, I was very happy when it came out without shaving his head. I should also mention that this was the day after we woke-up to him calling for us in his room. Michael being the good husband he is went to get him so I could sleep a little longer while he got ready to leave for school. I heard Carter saying "ouch" a few times and whining, but I figured Michael would come get me if it were anything serious. A few minutes later he came and got me. Carter had climbed over the changing table and was sitting on the garbage can right next to the crib with one leg stuck between the slats! I didn't think to take a picture of it. I was too busy trying to think of a way to get his leg out without having to saw our crib. Luckily a little lotion saved our crib and Carter's leg. I wish there were some other way to arrange the furniture in the room so he can't climb on the changing table, but when you are working with a 10x10 room, with a bed, crib and changing table, there is only one option. So, I'll probably have most posts through the winter of the mischief he causes. So, wish me luck as winter approaches and we spend more days inside. Let me know of any fun indoor activities you do with your kids too!

He loves olives! He obviously got that from me...not his Dad!

Making Halloween cookies to take to some neighbors. For those of you who got them, don't worry, I didn't give out any of the ones Carter made! He had to have his own bowl of frosting since he kept licking his knife.

We made pumpkins, ghosts, and fully moons!

Carter in his skeleton costume that he asks to wear daily...putting diaper cream in his hair!
One of my good friends did a post on her blog when he daughter got into the sugar and she said instead of getting mad she just grabbed her camera and it made the whole situation better. So, I was inspired by her when I walked in and first wanted to yell, but instead grabbed my camera and here's how it went! In case you can't hear/understand him, when I ask him what he's doing he says "putting medicine in my hair". Also sorry I wasn't thinking and shot some vertical not thinking about how that doesn't work for videos, but it's still funny.

Oh my gosh! I totally laughed when I read/saw pictures about the "medicine in my hair"!!! When I was little, I cut my bangs the day before we got family pictures taken.. so now I have nice photos of me with jaggedy bangs :) At least you got it all out... that is sticky stuff.
As for inside activities... sometimes we build forts/towers out of couch cushions and pillows, build roads and garages for his hotwheels out of cardboard boxes and tape... umm, I know there's more (we were stuck inside a lot last winter!) but I can't think of anymore right now...
LOL!! That video of him laughing and squeezing the tube had me laughing! What a cute kid! I find it hard not to laugh when my kids do things like that as well.
Inside activities...we do a lot of painting, or play dough. My girls also like to just sing. So we sing a lot of songs. Oh and puzzles. I bought a ton one year and they love doing those too.
BTW- Thanks for the comments on my blog and I think you do a great job blogging and always have such funny stories and cute pictures!
Yea, we're going to have to do some really fun things this winter or I think we'll all go batty.
Those cookies tasted as amazing as they looked, and the pics of Carter putting that lovely white goop on his head certainly did not disappoint. And I'm glad it came out for family pictures :)
That is so funny! I swear it is totally that age. Sadie was SO mischevious and has since out grown it. Thankfully!
Ok. That's hilarious. I am sure it wasn't to you at the time, but it sure seems funny now. I am glad you got a video of this, so you can show it to him later..or to his girlfriend.
That's funny. You just have to laugh and roll with it. He's so cute.
